not all that wander are lost
I am a late-identified autistic therapist and my passion is providing care for my fellow late-identified peers. I am proud to be queer, agender, disabled, and autistic- all of these things are just part of normal human variation! I was in practice as an acupuncturist for the last ten years and changed careers mid-life to became a licensed clinical social worker. As an integrative practitioner, I have worked with trauma survivors, people with chronic illnesses and pain, and LGBTQ2IA emerging adults. I am sex/kink/polyamory-positive, body-neutral, and sex-worker affirming. I strive to acknowledge and to combat the systemic impact of White supremacy, including its relationship to fatphobia, transphobia, and ableism. I currently specialize in supporting neurodivergent and/or queer emerging adults as they navigate the anxieties and stressors of late stage capitalism.
I offer client-centered compassion-based therapy that incorporates methods such as Socratic questioning, DBT, executive function coaching, and narrative therapy. I particularly enjoy incorporating spiritual and energetic practices such as mindfulness and loving-kindness, tai ji, and qigong into my therapy sessions. I believe it is crucial to honor and acknowledge the influence of the dharma teachings of Siddhartha Gautama on third-wave interventions like DBT/ACT/MBSR. I am also fully trained in EMDR. I am here to provide a safe, compassionate, judgment free space for you to process your experiences and learn new skills.
Statement on Genocide and Eugenics:
Healthcare providers have a responsibility to identify and oppose genocide and eugenics in all their forms. My home in Chicago stands on the unceded land of the Council of Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations, as well as on the Myaamia, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac and Fox, Peoria, Kaskaskia, Wea, Kickapoo, and Mascouten. The United States has actively participated in genocide since its beginning and continues to perpetuate atrocities against its own Black and Brown communities through pro-carceral white supremacist policies and practice as well as abroad through imperialist interference in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. I stand in mourning and opposition to the ongoing genocides of the Palestinian, Sudanese, Congolese, Rohingya, and Uyghur people. There must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to address the humanitarian catastrophe that has resulted from the US and Israel's massacring of innocent civilians. Finally, I challenge the US CDC's abdication of responsibility for the COVID-19 pandemic: abandoning common sense and scientifically validated prevention strategies and leaving vulnerable and marginalized communities to fend for themselves is eugenics and has resulted in the mass disablement of 10% of our population.
